Technorati - Painful but essential

Technorati is the self proclaimed "recognised authority on what's happening on the World Live Web, right now." If you want your blog to get noticed sort of have to be a part of it. So why was it so painful to sign up?
In order to submit your blog to Technorati you have to write a blog piece with some embedded code so their spider can verify it. This is that blog item so feel free to skip over this.
However while I was trying to sign up I had huge problems and the whole process took over 3 hours! For most of that time the site was actually down, simply displaying something about a "Technorati Monster" going awol on the internet....very droll.
The rest of the time was spent trying to register my details. Admittedly this was quite simple but then the site did something I believe to be the number one no no on the web today.
Immediately after capturing all my personal details they sent me a confirmation email, all good so far. However having captured and confirmed my email address I then tried logging into the site. Nothing. The page just refreshed on me. I tried again, same thing happened. I took half an hour break, but same thing happened when i returned. I then thought maybe its an internet explorer thing so opened up Firefox to try logging in there, no luck.
Only after 2 hours did the site actually let me log in to continue the process of submitting this blog. I could be forgiven for thinking things couldn’t get much worse but on submitting my blog the browser actually froze, crashed and shut itself down losing all the other tabs and pages I had open.
Thanks Technorati, if you want any input on how not to do things do please ask, not me necessarily, I am sure there are plenty of people who can help you write a registration process that is robust and consistent.
Anyway rant over, once you have found your monster, here's the code you were after, please don’t infect me with your gremlins.

Let's hope the first impressions don’t last and that I havent just shot myself in the foot!
P.s. They must be having a laugh at my expense, having written this blog I then clicked "Release the Spiders" but the button must have released the wrong door or something because the damn Monster got away again.
